Sean Conaty

Sean Conaty is the Director of Athletic Performance for Mizzou Men’s Basketball, where he is in charge of the strength & conditioning and physical development efforts of the team.

He comes to Columbia from Oregon State, where he was the Head Men’s Basketball Strength & Conditioning Coach. Prior to OSU, Conaty was Director of Sports Performance for Olympic Sports at the University at Buffalo, where he was directly responsible for the physical development and sports nutrition efforts of the men’s basketball and volleyball programs, as well as overseeing the Olympic Sports Performance Department. Before coming to UB, Conaty spent three seasons as an Assistant Sports Performance Coach at Eastern Michigan University, where he worked directly with the men’s and women’s basketball programs as well as soccer and women’s golf. Before joining the EMU strength & conditioning staff, Conaty served as an Assistant Strength & Conditioning Coach at Christopher Newport University. Before his time at CNU, Conaty was a Graduate Assistant Strength & Conditioning Coach at Springfield College, in Springfield, Mass. Prior to his graduate assistantship, Conaty held several strength & conditioning internship positions including stops with the Buffalo Bills, Merrimack College, East Carolina University, Fitness Quest 10, and IMG Academy.

The Monticello, NY native received his Master’s degree in strength and conditioning from Springfield College, after earning his Bachelor’s degree in exercise science from East Carolina University. Conaty is certified through the CSCCa (SCCC) and NSCA (CSCS). He is an approved CSCCa mentor, and a Registered Strength & Conditioning Coach (RSCC) through the NSCA. He also holds USAW, USATF, FMS, RPR, CISSN, and Pn1 credentials.
